課程概述

The instruction will combine lecture and discussion of various environmental topics as well as related microbial technologies. The selecting topics including but not limited to:
• Microbial ecology and diversity
• Artificial biosphere and space microbiology
• Electricity generation by microorganisms
• Bioremediation for oil, plastic, wastewater, etc
• Symbiotic microorganisms: plant-microbe & animal-microbe
• Microbes in agricultural biotechnology
For each topic, student will also participate in discussing the research paper findings, conclusions, potential impact in the scientific field in a roundtable format.  

課程目標
1.Gain a molecular, biological, and ecological understanding of microbial processes and methods relating to microbe-environment interactions.
2.Develop the concepts and skills required to understand and critically evaluate research articles that address the environmental microbiology.
3.Develop approaches to address and/or solve environmental issues.

1.Fundamental knowledge of biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology
